This photograph was taken in India and shows a wooden screen placed across a window. There are many beautiful designs decorating windows, walls, floors and ceilings in buildings in India.
Provided with the first few steps, students were challenged to apply their geometric thinking to recreate this India wooden screen design with a pencil and grid paper. Some students saw a different way of recreating this design and others used pattern blocks.

The process of creating their quilted design and transformation presentations:
Using their quilt design, students created a multimedia presentation, using an App of their choice, to identify and describe the different transformations (translations, reflections, rotations) found in their design.
